IMG_1330I liked snow more when I was a child because I played in it. When I was a youth I skied in it. When I stopped doing those things I began to dislike winter. When I had to drive to work even in blizzards I began to fear it. In the past few days there has been so much hype and alarm over this storm that it has created dread in people’s hearts instead of cautionary joy. (I think every local newscaster should spent a day in a library to see what sort of effect they have on a community!) Isn’t there a better way to inform without exploiting the animal excitement of its dangers? Today I will go out and walk in beauty as the Navajo say taking pictures and trying to learn new ways to love it again. Instead of dreaming of the southwest…
